Burnout – light-in
Letting my inner light shine again with mindfulness
Burnout is often seen as a personal problem. Stopping and turning back on the path to it is easy to say – but in the rut and structures of everyday life, this often seems impossible. To begin with, it requires a break from everyday life: time and space to breathe deeply and be able to perceive one's own inner light again. How can we allow this (divine) light to shine and thus reverse burnout?
Course participants receive information about burnout syndrome. Personal and structural pitfalls and patterns, as well as opportunities for change, are highlighted. Periods of silence, spiritual inspiration, singing, imagery, and contemplative laying on of hands facilitate a renewed sense of self. Participants learn to recognize symptoms of burnout and take countermeasures in both the work and social context. The course assumes psychological stability and personal responsibility and is particularly aimed at people who work with people.

From a letter by Bernard of Clairvaux (1090 – 1153)
If you are sensible, prove yourself to be a shell, not a channel,
which receives and transmits almost simultaneously,
while the latter waits until it is filled.
In this way she gives what overflows in her,
without harming herself, because she knows
that he who diminishes his portion is cursed…
Learn to pour out only from abundance,
and have no desire to be more generous than God.
The bowl mimics the spring. Only when it is saturated with water does it flow to the river, becoming the sea.
The bowl is not ashamed of being more overflowing than the source…
You do the same!
First fill and then pour out.
Kind and wise love is wont to overflow,
not to flow out…
I don't want to get rich if you get empty.
If you treat yourself badly,
who are you good for then?
If you can, help me out of your abundance;
if not, take care of yourself.
