Foreword by Dagmar Spelsberg-Sühling
It's time to say goodbye...
Dear readers!
This is my last program.
After 37 years of service in the Evangelical Church of Westphalia and 15 years as Commissioner for Spirituality, I will be retiring at the end of April 2024 with an invitation to retirement (see https://gottimalltag.de/veranstaltungen).
"And then? You can't just stop like that? What will you do (or continue to do) then?" I'm often asked.
But I can. I don't yet know exactly what will happen next. But just as "it" called me to bring attention to the topic of meditation and spirituality in the Protestant church, so "it" is now calling me into a new phase of my life. I am curious and excited about what lies ahead. One thing I know for sure: I will continue to live and act from the power of heartfelt prayer and—in a different role—continue to walk the path of the heart with many others.
Many seeds have been sown. Much has grown.
The fruits of silence will continue to have an impact. New plants will sprout. The Spirit of God continues to work, in many surprising places...
Yes, I will continue to do some—a few—of these myself until the end of 2024. Some of the offerings will also be continued by my colleagues in educational work.
The superintendents and education staff in the Münsterland church districts are currently discussing whether the "Spirituality and Spiritual Life" department can be continued in a different, more recent form, possibly starting in 2025. You will hear about it when the time comes. In the meantime, there will continue to be spiritual events, which will be announced via newsletter and can be found here: https://www.erwachsenenbildung-der-kirchenkreis.de
I say thank you from the bottom of my heart
for the chance to do this work for so long!
And thank you for the trust you have placed in me over the past 37 years!
Yours, Dagmar Spelsberg-Sühling
