Educational leave in February 2025

Follow your own heart’s path with imagination

Discover and strengthen inner images for spiritual growth

Images speak the language of the soul. We encounter them in dreams, stories, poems, and word games, as well as in our exploration of divine mystery. The Bible is rich in images and parables. This week, we will explore various imagery and express it creatively, rediscovering and strengthening our inner sources of strength. Participants will also deepen their ability to use imagery and images as valuable resources in their professional environments. This is particularly suitable for those working in educational, nursing, social, church, and therapeutic settings. The days will be complemented by periods of silence and the opportunity for individual discussions.

Speakers: Dr. med. Esther Sühling, psychotherapist, spiritual guidance, Laer and
Dagmar Spelsberg – Sühling, retired pastor, spiritual accompaniment and contemplation teacher Via Cordis

How to Be an Artist

Let yourself fall.
Learn snails to observe.
Plant impossible gardens.
Invite someone dangerous for tea.
Finished little signs that say “yes”
and distribute them throughout your house.

Become a friend of freedom and uncertainty.
Look forward to dreams.
Wines at movies,
Swing as high as you can on a swing by moonlight.

Cultivate different moods,
Refuse to be “responsible” – do it out of love!
Take a lot of naps.
Pass the money on. Do it now. The money will follow.
Believe in magic, laugh a lot.
Bathe in the moonlight.

Dream wild, imaginative dreams.
Draw on the walls.
Read every day.
Imagine you could do magic
Giggle with children. Listen to old people.
Open yourself. Dive in. Be free. Value yourself.

Let go of fear, play with everything.
Nurture the child within you. You are innocent.
Build a blanket fort. Get wet. Hug trees.
Write love letters.

(SARK – often attributed to Josef Beys)
