How do I face the wounds of today?
They bombard us every day: horrific images and news from the media, social networks, or our circle of friends. How do we deal with them? We must grieve for wounds in order to remain healthy and able to act. But there's no time for that, and there are far too many. Repression doesn't help. Neither does hatred and desire for destruction. How can we stay informed without becoming numb or breaking down, and take care of our own mental health? The workshop provides space for sharing our own experiences and steps in dealing with distressing messages that reach us daily, as well as professional, everyday support.

The cross with faith
All faith is conveyed by people, and dependencies, sometimes even abuse of power, quickly become mixed in. Then something intended to be healing becomes something hindering or even destructive. This interactive, humorous lecture conveys the ancient Christian art of "distinguishing between spirits" and preserving and promoting freedom of belief. This lecture is especially intended to help those who accompany or care for others to address faith and use it as a resource for life. Appointment upon request. Online seminar 2022 Here is the handout for the lecture: Good Faith – Bad Faith – the cross with faith set.

Facing illnesses and strokes of fate
The experience of physical illness or loss is painful and many feel the ground pulled out from under their feet.
However, how I interpret the illness or a painful experience influences how I deal with it and how I process the illness/event. I can become mentally ill, remain relatively unaffected, or mature as a result.
The lecture is about presenting pitfalls and healing aspects to be dealt with, and how one's own perspective can be broadened to include what is healing.
Date: On request

Depression and Faith – Dark Night of the Soul
I no longer feel myself—I no longer feel love—I no longer feel God—this "inability to feel" is a symptom of depression, which affects 151 percent of the population. One's own faith can help one cope positively with depression or depressive moods—but faith can also be a hindrance, even worsening depression.
And faith itself knows dark times.
Using resources from psychotherapy and religious knowledge, we aim to use lectures and discussions to explore ways of dealing with depression and healing the soul and spirit in a humorous and practical way.
Everyone interested is welcome, especially those affected, relatives of those affected, and people who work with other people professionally.
Date: On request
Online seminar:
Requirement: Stable internet connection, camera and microphone
If you've always wanted to know whether depression affects faith—and if so, what it does—then you've come to the right place. You'll learn the basics about depression, a widespread illness. You'll also learn what help and obstacles faith can offer. In simple steps, you'll learn what you can do if

“Don’t forgive too soon! – How to heal injuries and insults”
Forgiving too soon means ignoring the hurt, which often goes unnoticed and you act as if nothing happened. This can lead to the hurt happening again because you don't know how to deal with it differently. Or it festers deep down, and you close your heart.
If you forgive too late, your whole life can revolve around the insult.
The lecture will show the inner paths of forgiveness and possibilities to release what happened in order to come a step closer to healing.

“Love your neighbor AND yourself. How the two poles come together”
In the dialogue between “Kittel und Talar” and the audience, we want to bring together what often seems unattainable to us in everyday life: concern for others and self-care.
We often lose ourselves between these poles and become either indifferent, impatient, or sacrifice ourselves beyond our means for others. Burnout is the result. With humor and practical examples from psychotherapy and the art of faith, we build bridges between the two poles. These bridges can also endure in everyday life.

Maintain my boundaries – reconcile myself – deal with conflicts in a healing way
When you are in contact with other people, conflicts are hard to avoid.
We often ignore the resulting insults, or we withdraw and even vent our anger elsewhere. It's all the more important that insults don't make us sick, but instead find creative solutions to deal with them and maintain our joy in life.
With information, exercises, our own examples – and a bit of lightness in the difficult topic.
This topic is offered both as a lecture and as a one-day seminar.
Date: On request

An example from the lecture: Don’t forgive too soon:
“If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the left also.” (Matthew 5:39)
This sentence is often taken as proof that Jesus recommends that people not resist; that consequently, I too must not resist, but must accept everything.
We don't see it that way. Why?
Try putting this statement into practice: As a right-handed person – back then the majority were right-handed too – try hitting your counterpart on the RIGHT cheek – not in real life, please… And?
Exactly! It is not that easy. It only works if you back of the hand hit; that is, from a position of anger, superiority, perhaps contempt –
And when the beaten one then turns his left cheek to you and thus escapes the spell of your gaze:
then you could only hit him on the nose – that was frowned upon in the Orient at that time.
Isn't there an irritation - a pause - on the part of those who want to vent their anger?
Is there not in your side the one who is struck that he stands up and goes out of the spell of the gaze?
In our opinion, Jesus thus showed a third way: not to belittle oneself—not to let things escalate—but to maintain one's own dignity—and to enable others to do the same. ...
