Practice group „contemplative laying on of hands“ in the Steinfurt-Coesfeld-Borken church district
The laying on of hands is commonplace in the New Testament. Jesus laid his hands on people to bless and heal them; and he also gave this commission to those who followed him. We too can lay our hands on people, but we should always remember that God's Spirit works through us, not ourselves. God's Spirit works as He/She/It wills, and it doesn't necessarily happen in the way we want or think is right. It is, in any case, a comforting and relaxing experience.
The laying on of hands is healing for the soul, both for those who receive it and those who give it.
Contemplative laying on of hands is a spiritual practice and does not replace medical or psychotherapeutic treatment.

Prayer for healing
May divine healing power flow through us,
cleanse, strengthen and heal us,
fill us with love,
healing warmth and light
protect and guide us
